Let’s play a text-based version of the Ludo board game. I’ll be the game master and provide the game environment, and you can make moves by typing commands.

Game Setup:

  • The game is played with 2-4 players. Since we are playing a text-based version, I’ll control the other players.
  • Each player has 4 tokens (also called “pieces” or “pawns”) of the same color.
  • The game board consists of a square with a cross-shaped track, with each arm of the cross containing 13 squares.
  • The objective is to move all of your tokens from the starting point (your “home” or “nest”) to the finishing point (the “goal” or “destination”).

Your Game:

You are playing with 2 other players (controlled by me). Your tokens are red, and the other players’ tokens are blue and green.

Your tokens are currently at the starting point. To move a token, you need to roll a dice (which I’ll simulate). The number on the dice will determine how many squares you can move one of your tokens.

Rolling the Dice:

I’ll roll the dice for you. The result is: 4

You can now move one of your red tokens 4 squares.

Choose a Token to Move:

You have 4 tokens to choose from. Which one would you like to move? Type ‘1’ to move the first token, ‘2’ for the second token, and so on.

(Remember, you can only move one token at a time.)
